This shot of The Dillinger Escape Plan was captured during their performance at The Casbah in San Diego, CA, in 2016. Guitarist Ben Weinman, sporting a black eye, pushed through the set alongside vocalist Greg Puciato in the packed venue.
Widely recognized as the definitive pioneers of mathcore and experimental metal, The Dillinger Escape Plan fundamentally reshaped aggressive music with their complex time signatures and intense technicality. This fine-art print serves as an archival documentation from their final year of club appearances before their farewell run.
This tour was a notable milestone for my archive. I had the opportunity to film the band in Los Angeles and Santa Ana on this same stretch, and later joined them to document their farewell United States tour. Capturing moments like this one preserves the performance legacy of a band that altered the trajectory of progressive hardcore.
