Yesterday was by far the coolest day of my entire life. Myself along with My friend Eaddy of Ho99o9 walked through the gate and up the famous steps of this porch in Arlington, VA. We nervously look around before deciding to ring the door bell. We’re just speechless as the door opens and one of our punk rock hero’s asks “what’s up?” “Can I help you guys?” Uhhh ummm we answer. He says “Well I’ve only got 2 minutes before I’ve gotta ride my bike home” We proceed to take some photos on the porch and we get to talking. He tells us stories about being a violent punk in the 80s and his eventual commitment to none violence. As we’re about to leave he says here I’ve got some other stuff I think you might like and he invites us inside… Past the photos of his Fugazi bandmates into a time capsule of an office that’s basically a museum for dischord records and where the label was ran for so many years. He showed us the skateboard from the original photo and we started talking about records. He gave us a tour of the dischord office across the street and that’s where talks of Bad Brains began. He was like oh you like the Bad Brains? Follow me as he takes us back inside to his childhood bedroom where he played us a progression of original Bad Brains demos and told us stories of their evolution. He walked us out shook our hands and posed for a quick photo. I recently had the pleasure of recreating the classic Marc Mckee artwork for the @mikevallely / Snake board that was reissued by Street Plant. Hand Crafted by Master Skateboard Craftsman @professorschmitt at Ps Stix, the @streetplantbrnd Snake Reissue Board matches the exact dimensions of the original 1990 Vallely Snake Board from World Industries. This Snake Reissue, Screen Printed at @screamingsqueegees features the original Snake artwork by Marc Mckee with the addition of the Street Plant logo on the top graphics and an updated and perhaps almost correct (?) phonetical pronunciation of the Vallely name. Thanks to everyone who purchased the 100 Limited Edition Yellow Snake Boards they are now sold out and they will never be reproduced in this color combination again.
