Descendents Setlist
$70.00
I wasn’t exactly on the guest list for this one, but when the Descendents played the Hollywood Palladium in 2016 after a long hiatus, there was no way I was going to miss it. I had to shoot this show. I made my own luck, walked straight past the gates with my camera like I belonged, and caught the first three songs from the pit.
After those first three songs, I somehow found myself on stage for the rest of the show, standing right next to the band’s family members. I had no idea at the time that they would eventually become some of my best friends. Milo Aukerman ripped through the vocals like he never left, Stephen Egerton hit every riff with perfect precision, Karl Alvarez kept the bassline completely locked in, and Bill Stevenson drove the rhythm on drums like he was running on five shots of espresso.
As pioneers of melodic hardcore and pop-punk, the Descendents have influenced alternative music for decades. With a history deeply connected to legendary punk bands like ALL and Black Flag, this print documents a great moment from their Hypercaffium Spazzinate Tour.
Years later, I got this print signed by the entire band, and Chris Shary even drew his iconic Milo sketch on the guitar cabs in the frame. Bill asked me where I got the handwritten setlist because they almost always type them out.
