Seeing Saosin play Chain Reaction in 2018 felt like a total throwback. They called it the “World Tour of Anaheim” and played a few nights in the same room where they really started out. It was wild hearing songs from Translating the Name in a place that small. I remember finding their music years ago and thinking it sounded like nothing else. Seeing them up close in a sweaty venue beats seeing them at a big festival any day.
I took this photo when the show was getting really crazy. Anthony Green was climbing on everything and the crowd was screaming every single word. The biggest surprise was when they played “Voices” which is a song from when Cove Reber was in the band. Anthony had never really performed that one before so the whole crowd lost their minds. The energy in that room was just off the charts.
Saosin has always been a huge band for me. They play super technical music but it still has so much feeling behind it. Getting to take photos of them in a venue that is such a big part of their history was really special.
