As a lifelong fan of punk rock, I had the incredible opportunity to travel to Arlington, Virginia, and meet one of my heroes, Ian MacKaye. Visiting the Dischord House, the headquarters of Dischord Records, was an unforgettable experience. This modest suburban house, rich with punk rock history, serves as a hub for the local music scene and a symbol of the DIY ethic.
During my visit, Ian MacKaye graciously gave us a tour of the Dischord Record Headquarters. He shared stories of the label's beginnings and even played us a progression of Bad Brains demos in his childhood bedroom upstairs. It was a surreal moment, and as we were leaving, I snapped this quick photo of him—a memory that means everything to me.
This photo is not just a personal treasure but also a piece of punk rock history. It is framed and proudly displayed in the Washington DC section of the Punk Rock Museum in Las Vegas, NV.
